The Idol needs to be in the spotlight and be the subject of adoration. It is anyone who feeds off the attention of others. It is a rock-star who becomes bigger than life before his adoring fans. It is a charismatic power-monger able to manipulate its followers into self-betraying behaviors. The card depicts a puffed up, monster-like creature with people bowing before it. The people gladly give their power to the idol, even though it causes them visible harm. If the Idol has visited you today, it may be time to observe the ego. Has your need for attention or admiration dominated? Do things always need to be or go your way? Or perhaps the cards are inviting you to come out of the wings and take center stage? Either way, it is time to check the distribution of power. Take it back or keep it in check.
